Stanford scored its first major victory on 2015 signing day by grabbing the commitment of Justin Reid, a 3-star safety from Geismar, Louisiana.
Reid picked Stanford from a final three that included Notre Dame and LSU, the alma mater of his brother.
247 Sports ranks Reid as the nation's 22nd-best safety and the 16th-best player in the state of Louisiana.
Stanford had largely wrapped up its 2015 recruiting class ahead of today, but the extra momentum of Reid's signing is another positive for a program that finished very strongly over the last two months.
The Cardinal now can tout its defensive backfield as one of the strengths of the 2015 recruiting class, as Reid joins four-stars Frank Buncom IV and Ben Edwards.
