Just because you were probably focused on the big USC-Stanford showdown in Palo Alto doesn't mean we didn't have any high school football action. Here's what happened with #CardClass17 last week.
2017 Commits
QB Davis Mills - Greater Atlanta Christian School (Norcross, Ga.)
I can officially say that Mills is back to being 100% healthy. He definitely seemed to be the player I saw during the 2016 Elite 11 competition this summer, accounting for three passing touchdowns while passing for 168 yards on 13-of-16 attempts. The GAC senior also added a rushing score in the 37-7 win over St. Pius.
TE/DE Colby Parkinson - Oaks Christian HS (Westlake Village, Calif.)
Parkinson again did not play in the Lions' wild 63-62 triple overtime victory over Alemany High School. There has been no movement on a timetable for the nation's top tight end to return healthy from his ankle injury.
WR Osiris St. Brown - Mater Dei HS (Anaheim, Calif.)
St. Brown is picking up steam this season, adding four catches for 168 yards and two touchdown receptions to his season totals. The Monarchs continued their streak of having a margin of victory 45 or more points, which they've done in all four games (49, 63, 48 and 56 points respectively) while only giving up 14 points total to opponents. Mater Dei prevailed over Upland, 62-7.
DB Stuart Head - Etowah HS (Woodstock, GA)
Head assisted in Etowah defeating Milton High School, 28-10.
RB Sione Heimuli-Lund - Brighton HS (Salt Lake City, UT)
Lund has been the most consistent player this season for Brighton. The hard-nosed runner carried the ball 16 times for 208 yards and four touchdowns while also catching two passes for 66 yards and a touchdown. Still, the Bengals were dealt their fourth loss of the season, 47-44 at the hands of Taylorsville HS.
TE Tucker Fisk - Davis Senior HS (Davis, Calif.)
The Blue Devils had a bye week in week 4 of their season and are set to take on Elk Grove HS next week.
OL Drew Dalman - Palma HS (Salinas, Calif.)
Dalman recorded two first half sacks and a forced fumble on defense and helped the Chieftain rushing attack gain 283 yards in Palma's 38-20 defeat of Aptos HS.
2018 Commits
QB Jack West - Saraland HS (Saraland, AL)
Saraland snapped a two-game losing streak as West threw for 133 yards (7-of-11 completions) and two touchdown passes in a 55-12 victory over Robertsdale HS.
