Dalyn Wade-Perry to Stanford: DT signs with the Cardinal

Another excellent addition to #CardClass17

Stanford’s interior defensive line received a much-needed shot in the arm with the addition of Pope John XXIII (New Jersey) High School defensive tackle Dalyn Wade-Perry on Wednesday.

The four-star run stopper chose the Stanford Cardinal over Florida State and UCLA after Stanford’s Big Visit weekend on Jan. 13-14. ‘D-Wade’ also held offers from Alabama, Florida, Maryland, Nebraska, Ohio State, Penn State, South Carolina, Virginia and Wisconsin among others.

With Wade-Perry’s blend of size (DWP is built like a tank with a 6-foot-3, 341-pound frame) and strength (moves offensive linemen and blocking backs with ease), he will fit right in with the #IntellectualBrutality philosophy which percolates the entire Stanford roster.

“The Pope John XXIII High School product from Englewood, New Jersey stands at 6’3” and weighs in at 341 pounds. He is ranked 21st among his position and is brutal on the bull rush. He can use his raw power in size to simply plow over centers and guards. However, he is not a one-trick pony, displaying a nasty spin move at a Nike football camp against top level talent offensive linemen.”
