Card Clicks: Stanford's Nate Whitaker Participates in Kickers Combine

Former Stanford placekicker Nate Whitaker, who many Cardinal fans will remember fondly for drilling the game-winner against USC last season, recently participated in Coach Zauner's College Senior Specialist's Combine. The video below, which features Whitaker attempting field goals, kicking off , and even punting, is strangely riveting. Curiously missing from Whitaker's workout? The 40-yard dash. Al Davis wants to know!

ESPN scouts rank Whitaker as the 17th-best placekicker in the 2011 NFL draft (Insider content) and assign him a positional grade of 30, which makes him a "Borderline Draft Prospect."

The NFL's official Scouting Combine begins tomorrow morning in Indianapolis. Sione Fua, Owen Marecic, Richard Sherman, and Ryan Whalen received invites.

Incredibly Surprisingly Riveting

I think it’s all due to the sultry tones of who seems to Coach Zauner himself.
