Former Stanford placekicker Nate Whitaker, who many Cardinal fans will remember fondly for drilling the game-winner against USC last season, recently participated in Coach Zauner's College Senior Specialist's Combine. ESPN scouts rank Whitaker as the 17th-best placekicker in the 2011 NFL draft (Insider content) and assign him a positional grade of 30, which makes him a "Borderline Draft Prospect."
The NFL's official Scouting Combine begins tomorrow morning in Indianapolis. Sione Fua, Owen Marecic, Richard Sherman, and Ryan Whalen received invites.
