Congrats to Jeanette. If Nneka had been playing the way she’s playing now throughout the entire season, she would have joined Pohlen as first team AA. Like I said yesterday, Baylor had the size, but the Aggies have the shooting. That said, it’ll be a thousand times easier for Nneka and Chiney under the basket without Griner there.
The baseball game last night was one of the longest games at Sunken Diamond I’ve ever been to. It was really bad defensively for Stanford those two innings. At one point in the ninth, it looked like Kenny Diekroeger at SS just kinda gave up a hit and didn’t even attempt to make a play for the out. I think he had something like three or four errors alone by himself.
And really, if the Pac-12 moves games to Sundays in the case of a prolonged lockout (and the NFL owners don’t form their own teams in the interim), that would be like a dream come true for Stanford Athletics. No 49ers or Raiders games in pro-centric Bay Area would be sure to drive up attendance. In reality, though, I think Cal would most benefit, especially since they have something like two consecutive Thursday night games against Oregon and USC. Plus visiting fans to any stadium would be cutting it close getting back to their homes in time for work. But I’m all for Sunday football, especially if other conferences are reluctant to do it.
