Heh...
Replays of sporting events at the stadium? On the WiFi network they set up there? Sure… I’ll believe it when I see it.

Replays is accurate.
Note the lack of the word “instant” there.

Isn't there a wifi network in Stanford stadium?
I remember my iphone connecting automatically to the AT&T wireless network there in the fall…

There is.
Some people have problems connecting.

Stanford/AT&T; WiFi
The problem with AT&T WiFi at Stanford is that it is extremely spotty. Unfortunately, that’s true in almost any place that AT&T has set up it’s WiFi hotspots, so it’s not a problem that’s unique to Stanford. The only place I’ve never experienced any problems is when I’m in a Starbucks, and even then, I’m only at max 30-50 feet away from the router. I doubt that AT&T has routers set up every 100 feet or so in venues like the football stadium.
Until technology comes out that boosts WiFi signals capable of holding in excess of 20 people at one time beyond what they’re currently capable of, Stanford is at the whim of whatever AT&T gives them. Unless the school decides that it’ll allow guests on its own network, but that’ll be the day.
