The Pac 12 Network(s) Are Coming

It’s not available on Verizon in my area on the east coast. So that pretty much means I can’t watch any of the games at home, right? Wonderful, Pac12. I continue to hate this idea.

Also, I’m not a fan of how misleading they’re being about what they will show, and when. There’s a specific question on their FAQ page that says “will you show games live?” and they answer “Absolutely.” and go on to explain they’re planning to show an “unprecedented number” of live games in the first year, and follow that up with a completely unrelated discussion of how many games they’re planning to show on the network, without reference to whether or not those games will be live (which almost assuredly means they will not be live). I’ll be excited in this system when I see it actually work, but I remain skeptical and frustrated with it all.

I don’t have cable. To the Pac12, that means I am not a person.

I have emailed, called, posted from their website asking for options to watch the Cardinal without cable, and have received ZERO RESPONSE in 4 weeks. Not even a “get cable, dude” which would seem to be true, but they don’t want to admit it.

Memo to Pac12: 1. Viewer loyalty (and word-of-mouth) is key to your success. 2. You earn loyalty with making good content available. 3. When all else fails, at least respect your prospective customers. 4. Cardinal fans have long memories - there are still some of us who believe Dwight Garner’s knee was down on the KO return that won the 1982 Big Game. We won’t forget a network snubbed us.
