Stanford Recruiting: Four-Star Clark Yarbrough Commits to Stanford

Stanford adds a huge (both literally and figuratively) 2016 recruit. #CardClass16

On Tuesday afternoon, Stanford added its seventh commit for the 2016 recruiting class and this guy was a huge one. Clark Yarbrough is an OT from Woodberry, Virginia and was high recruited by 30 other teams. The main four were: UVA, Florida, Clemson, and Duke. Yarbrough joins an early star-studded 2016 class with other top 100 recruits in KJ Costello, Kaden Smith, and Curtis Robinson. This is Stanford's first recruit in the month of May, but he was one worth waiting for and one they needed.

In the 2015 NFL Draft the Saints drafted Andrus Peat, which leaves only four OT on the Stanford roster. With only two OT's coming in as freshmen (both three-stars) and with another two leaving (Kyle Murphy and Nick Davidson) after the season, Yarbrough will be relied on to anchor a relatively young tackle group.

As I mentioned before Yarbrough is huge, he stands at 6-foot-6 and weighs in at 270-pounds. This is what an ideal Stanford lineman would look like. He is a great run blocker and can seal the edge for the backs. He can also run up field and become a lead blocker. His versatility is also another big plus. In Yarbrough's junior year of high school he played LT, LG, and RG. Stanford will need him at his main position of RT in the upcoming years. Clark Yarbrough is just another impressive talent to join the 2016 football class, but he also won't be the last one.
