The Stanford Cardinal has been known for tough and physical linebackers in recent years, and new signee Levani Damuni fits this role at outside linebacker. Sought after by Utah Utes and Virginia Cavaliers, Damuni became a Cardinal after signing his national letter of intent today.

Ranking as a four-star recruit by Rivals, Damuni is 6’2” and weighs 225 pounds, which is a tad underweight for an outside linebacker. Coming from Utah, Damuni led the Ridgeline High School on defense who only allowed a little more than sixteen points per game. Damuni could certainly bring this leadership to the Farm. In fact, he’s even been compared to Stanford legend Shayne Skov. Like Skov, Damuni is passionate, and if he can produce anywhere near the same level as Skov, he’ll be an incredible addition at Stanford.

Looking forward, Stanford’s current starting outside linebackers, Peter Kalambayi and Joey Alfieri, have only one and two years left on the Farm, so Damuni could compete for a starting job relatively soon. Specifically, former five-star and current freshman Curtis Robinson will need to find a partner in crime at the outside linebacker position; Damuni could be that guy.
