Whitaker Named Special Teams POW; Start Time Announced for Oregon Game

A few afternoon items worth sharing today:
  • Stanford kicker Eric Whitaker was named the Pac-12 Special Teams Player of the Week after making all six of his extra point attempts and a pair of pressure-packed field goals in Stanford's 56-48 win at USC. The junior started in place of Jordan Williamson, who was injured during warmups, and also booted two kickoffs out of bounds.
  • The Stanford-Oregon showdown at Stanford Stadium on Nov. 12 is slated for a 5 p.m. PT kickoff and will be broadcast on ABC. If the Cardinal and Ducks both win this week, it seems likely that ESPN's College Gameday would make the trip to Palo Alto.
  • It wasn't Andrew Luck's finest performance from a statistical standpoint, but the way he responded after his interception was returned for a touchdown should impress the Heisman voters.
  • Here's an awesome panoramic crowd photo from the Coliseum on Saturday night. If you were at the game, you should be able to find yourself in the stands. (via The CARDboard)
