2011 NCAA Men's Tournament: Elite Eight Open Thread

And then there were 8. Today's marquee game isn't 'til 8:30 p.m.--Stanford-UNC women, of course--but there are some compelling men's tournament matchups to whet your appetite. Chat about them here.

(8) Butler vs. (2) Florida - 1:30 p.m. PST, CBS

The Gators took down The Jimmer in classic fashion.

(5) Arizona vs. (3) Connecticut -- 4:05 p.m PST, CBS

Wildcats head coach Sean Miller deserves a lot of credit for Arizona's success this season and Thursday's upset of Duke.

Not so sure about AZ

going for 3 at the end. Seems like getting the game into OT would’ve been a better strategy, given the foul situation and so forth.

No doubt I’m overlooking something, though. Maybe Sean Miller figured UConn would be defending the 2 more intensely and the 3 would be more open.
