MBB and WBB schedules this season

Does anyone know why the MBB and WBB teams play on the same nights/days this year? I really dislike this scheduling because I enjoy watching/listening to/following both teams and don’t like to have to choose. If I remember correctly, it used to be MBB on Th/Sat and WBB on Fri/Sun. Anyone know when this changed and why?

That is odd...

I can’t remember it ever being like that in the past…

Women used to play a lot of Sunday games

But they’ve always played Thursday nights. Primarily, it was for television purposes, but with the addition of the two new teams, there are four less open spots for televised games than in the past. The commissioner wants exposure for all teams, so he made it such that teams, even a nationally ranked and very good Stanford team, have to wait their turn for better scheduling.

Plus women’s basketball will always play a back seat to the men’s game in the Pac-12 until Stanford or someone else wins the national championship. That’s just the unfortunate truth when it comes to scheduling. But it all changes next year when games will be played everyday except perhaps Tuesday and Wednesday.

Ugh

Just seems like the women are inherently at a disadvantage when they play at the same time as the men. If the new scheduling next year will put the women at an advantage by not overlapping with the men, then I guess it’s better than what they have this year.
