OLB Peter Kalambayi Commits to Stanford
As reported by Rivals' Andy Drukarev, the Cardinal received a commitment today from Butler (Matthews, N.C.) four-star linebacker Peter Kalambayi.
Kalambayi, who had offers from more than 20 schools and was reportedly high on Clemson, committed to Stanford during an unofficial visit to the Farm and brings the Cardinal's already impressive list of 2013 commitments to five. In addition to wide receiver Francis Owusu, who committed earlier this week, Stanford has received solid verbals from quarterback Ryan Burns and linebackers Isaac Savaiinaea and Doug Randolph. Three of the Cardinal's first five commits are from the ACC country, so perhaps those trips to Wake Forest and Duke are paying off.
Stanford, which is already stacked at linebacker, looks to be reloading at the position much as David Shaw and the coaching staff did with an incredible haul of top-rated offensive linemen this year. Among the recruits in the class of 2013, Rivals.com ranks Kalmbayi and Randolph the No. 11 and No. 12 outside linebackers, respectively, and Savaiinaea the No. 7 inside linebacker.

OL 2012-2016; LB 2013-2017
The recruiting seems to come in waves - though pretty d**n tall waves - these days. It would seem that each class should fully deliver a couple of these stacked positions, to make sure all major elements are covered over the years.
I hope the next group to make a showing in the 2013 class is the CB/SS corps.
