Fresh off a still head scratching loss to USC at home, Stanford saw it's poll position drop in the AP and Coaches poll from 13th and 10th to 15th and 16th respectively. USC; however, cracked the top 10 in both polls while Oregon jumped to 2nd in the AP poll after flattening Michigan State in Eugene.
The Pac-12 has the second most teams represented in both polls with 5 teams, while the SEC continues to lead the way with 8 teams ranked in the AP and Coaches.
Barring any upsets in the next two weeks, Stanford won't have a chance to move up in the polls until it's October 4th showdown at Notre Dame. Win that game and Stanford would certainly work it's way back into the playoff conversation.
