My favorite part of the piece:

Stanford typically is known for its defense as much as South Bend is for its weather. Yet there was inside linebacker Owen Marecic, who really should start appearing on Heisman Trophy watch lists, returning an interception 20 yards for the final Stanford touchdown. One play earlier, Marecic had scored on a 1-yard touchdown run in his role as Stanford fullback.

Luck was asked how hard it was for his teammate to handle starting responsibilities at two of football's toughest positions.

"For a football player, it's like going to law school and business school at the same time,'' Luck said.

Also, I'm glad to have finally found a Stanford blog

Heisman

That’s awesome to think about PFP (Perfect Football Player) being in any kind of Heisman discussion, even if my thoughts on whether that’s realistic are sort of all over the place (no way…but…who knows?).

I don’t know how he goes both ways while keeping up with his classes. To keep up with the plays/gameplans/weekly schemes every week for both sides of the ball cannot be easy. Then, of course, there’s the conditioning issue. Very impressive. And definitely fun to watch.

Great quote, and I kinda like PFP. The Marecic4Heisman Twitter account launched today.

Sweet

I guess it’s hard to argue with those who say that Luck has been our MVP so far this season, and he’s almost certainly our most irreplaceable player. But Marecic seems to be the heart and soul (read: guts) of this team.
