Card Clicks: Owen Marecic Has Fond Memories of Autzen Stadium

Stanford's Owen Marecic returns to the stadium where his Jesuit High School team won state titles during his junior and senior years

Marecic played Pop Warner football with Oregon senior middle linebacker Casey Matthews.

He hasn't broken a long one yet, but Stepfan Taylor has been a steady performer at running back for the Cardinal.

The Stanford Daily examines the Cardinal's slew of successful walk-ons, a group that includes Ryan and Griff Whalen, and Nate Whitaker.

Jim Harbaugh quotes Ric Flair. Wooooooooooo!

Todd McShay suggests the Cardinal would do well to copy Ohio State's blueprint for stopping the Ducks in last season's Rose Bowl.

Mark Purdy calls the Ducks--and their "Rubik's cube combinations of home uniforms"--the new Evil Empire of the Pac-10.

ATQ says Saturday's game will come down to who wants it more.

Injury Updates

Apparently, Ryan Whalen and M. Thomas are “practicing.” How much they’re practicing…who knows? But that is excellent news. Thomas, if he plays, could be a difference maker. Skaufel and Yancy are solid players, but Thomas needs to be in there to tackle James and Barner in space.

Anybody heard anything about Stewart?

Gaffney

Or Gaffney?

I haven’t seen any updates since Rick Eymer reported that Harbaugh said there’s a chance both Stewart and Gaffney could make appearances against the Ducks. No Thomas would certainly hurt.

MT3 not playing would definitely hurt. Anybody friends w/him on Facebook? Apparently the some poster on the Oregon Scout members said that MT3 on FB stated that he only has a mild sprain.

Mind games

Jim Harbaugh has access to all of his players’ Facebook accounts, right?

by Scott Allen on Sep 30, 2025 2:52 PM PDT up reply actions

Haha I wouldn’t doubt it based on his hush policy.
