2004 Big Game Program: No. 4 Cal Routs Stanford
JJ Arrington ran for 169 yards and Cal scored its biggest victory in Big Game since 1930 with a 41-6 rout of Stanford at Memorial Stadium. The teams combined for 26 penalties for 228 yards. Not a bad looking program, but I could do without the silhouette of the generic football player.

re: penalties
Wasn’t there also an ejection from this game? I remember things get snippy.

Yep
Leigh Torrence was ejected after leveling Tim Mixon, who had called for a fair catch, on a punt. I was pretty embarrassed to be a Stanford fan that day.

Ugh, I remember this game
I believe it followed the Daily’s heartbreaking, last-second defeat in the annual Ink Bowl.

I thought that Ink Bowl was settled by a boat race
Oh well, though. The following year had a certain Daily alum’s sons shred the Daily Cal the following year.
And I don’t remember much from this game other than I couldn’t get a phone call or text message out of Memorial Stadium. That and it was the last time I saw Adam Duritz patrolling the sidelines for a Big Game.
