Stanford third

Stanford and OSU have pretty much messed up everyone’s preconceived notions about the league race. The preseason had Stanford sixth, and now from what I’ve seen, no one has them finishing lower than fourth (Wilner).

Given the woebegone nature of the rest of the league, Stanford needs to finish at least second (or win the tournament) to get a March bid. Otherwise, to the NIT we (most likely) go.

His reason for picking Cal as #1

“Cal: Bears have been solid in the preseason, they’ve got a lot of proven commodities, and they probably have the best bench coach in Mike Montgomery.”

Solid in the preseason? Blowout losses to UNLV and Missouri equals “solid”???? OK

While those were lopsided defeats, those are both top 20 teams. Cal is the only pac-12 team that hasn’t lost to at least one team outside the top 100 of the Sagarin rankings.
