Bye Week Open Thread

With only three Pac-10 games this week, I wasn't planning on posting an open thread today. Then I watched Matt Barkley tie a USC single-game record for passing touchdowns--in the first half! If you haven't heard, the Trojans are pummeling Cal, 42-0. Maybe last week's win was T-shirt worthy after all.

Other scores of interest, on the eve of the release of the first BCS standings:

  • Texas, which lost to UCLA, which was shut out by Stanford, is leading Nebraska, 17-3, in Lincoln.
  • Wake Forest, which gave up 68 points to Stanford, is trailing Virginia Tech, 49-14, at the half.
  • Notre Dame is rolling against Western Michigan, 41-17.

Wow...

I’d crack a joke about USC having to pay rent to live inside of Cal’s head but its clear that they simply own Cal outright…

Cal still worries me for the Big Game because it is at Cal and they have a lot of speed, but boy they are terrible away from home.

Tedford...

could win a Nobel Prize for his outstanding model of mediocrity.

Unfortunately, the bears are still hit and miss, so Big Game will still be a test. Here’s to hoping for a USC-style beatdown in Hippieville this year.

Yeah I was looking for a game thread over here yesterday.........

but following CGB was mighty mighty hilarious.

Seriously……..I hope they get beat down by the Cardinal this year.
