and BOOM goes the recruiting class
Two Stanford recruits decommit and commit to USC. Link
Anthony Sarao, a linebacker and Amir Carlisle, a running back have decided to sign with USC.
Carlisle said that academics played a role in his decision. Academics Played a Role
They really need to get this shored up as soon as possible.
Frankly, with all due disrespect to USC, where in the hell is their academics comparable to Stanford. I guess excepting underwater basket weaving.
Word.

Carlisle wanted to be a film major, USC’s film department is tops in the west coast.

I actually knew a chap at SC who transferred to Stanford when he wasn’t admitted to SC’s film school. Make of that what you will.

Ballroom Dancing
These commits probably want to follow in the footsteps of Matt Leinart and Matt Barkley by taking ballroom dancing classes down in LA!
Earlier today, I read somewhere that Carlisle committed to U$C because he has a higher chance of playing immediately than if he were to attend Stanford, which is fine by me because we have plenty of RB’s.
But they should probably remember this: U$C may have Stanford prices, but you still only get a U$C diploma.

Ummm
You know. Perhaps you should understand that this is a sliding scale. Perhaps an $C diploma isn’t bad compared to Oregon or Arizona. But dude, seriously …
Well, you're not hardcore unless you live hardcore.

Many of us manage to cope nonetheless.

Sure, if you want to be a spy . . .
How ya gonna keep 'em down on the Farm, after they've seen Berkeley?

Unfounded accusations, supported only by inference bordering on libel, ma’am.

See Berkeley
Who needs to see Berkeley? If you drive 5 miles up the peninsula from The Farm, you can smell it.

It really is a shame that I was too stupid and lumpen to even dream of attending Stanford, how impoverished my humor has been as a result.

Some good news amid the doom 'n gloom
From Bill Kurelic’s Recruiting Blog on ESPN:
Under Armour All-American linebacker James Vaughters (Tucker, Ga./Tucker) has re-affirmed his commitment to Stanford.
The ESPNU 150 prospect committed to Stanford on June 17, but re-opened his recruitment to some extent when Jim Harbaugh left Stanford for the San Francisco 49ers. Vaughters added official visits to Florida Jan. 21 and Ohio State Jan. 28 to his Stanford visit, which was last weekend.
However, after visiting the Cardinal, talking things over with new Stanford coach David Shaw, and thinking about things for a few days, Vaughters has decided to end the recruiting process.
