Stanford loses recruits after official visit weekend

This past weekend was the official weekend for Stanford football recruits and their families to visit Stanford and see the campus as well as talk with current players and coaches. Suffice it to say, it hasn't resulted in good things so far.

With less than two weeks to go before National Signing Day, Stanford has lost three recruits:
OL Garrett Gladd, Salisaw, OK (to Tulsa)
RB Amir Carlisle, Sunnyvale, CA (to USC)
LB Anthony Sarao, Absecon, NJ (to USC)

The loss of Carlisle is likely to be minimized due to the fact that he would probably be fourth or fifth on the depth roster at RB, but the loss of two linemen really hurts, especially considering they bolted for A) a team that also is in the midst of a coaching change, and B) USC.

UPDATE: So I missed jerryt's fanpost, but let's just make this about how another recruit switched to USC then.

Top OL switches pledge to Tulsa

6-foot-4 and 290-pound lineman Garrett Gladd, one of the top 75 offensive tackles in the country, switched his commitment from Stanford to Tulsa on Friday. He had been committed to Stanford since April, but Sallisaw head coach Craig Benson told ITS that Gladd had a change of heart.

Tulsa?

Unless that kid had an almost life-threatening case of homesickness, it would be really difficult to swallow any 12-Pack team losing a recruit to Tulsa. Because other than proximity to family, I can’t imagein exposure, athletics, or academics being the trigger.

Tough off-season for you guys. But, then again, you’re still pretty loaded with players, so I don’t feel too bad for you.

Well, you're not hardcore unless you live hardcore.

This is what happens when you’re successful. You lose coaches to the NFL, and you lose players that wanted to play for those coaches.
