"Exclusive" Game Thread: Stanford vs. DePaul
I'm watching the Redskins battle for their playoff lives against Toby Gerhart and the Vikings, but some of you diehards are probably watching Stanford-DePaul in the 76 Classic on ESPN3. This space is for you. Does the Cardinal offense look any better in streaming HD than it did in the first two games of the tournament?

I'll break the ice.
Jarrett Mann just airballed a free throw with Stanford trailing 67-65. Brutal. 1 minute to play.

Big shot by Jeremy Green to tie it.
They’re reviewing it to determine if it was a 3, but his foot was clearly on the line.

Stanford calls a timeout with 19 seconds left.
Game tied at 67. Johnny Dawkins drawing up a game-winning shot. Green?

OT?
Sigh… this team will get better over the course of the season… they have to, considering the level they’re at right now.

Dwight Powell, smooth as silk from FT line.
7-for-7 in the game. Gives Stanford a 73-70 lead with 2 minutes remaining in OT.

2 more for Powell.
75-70 Stanford. 1:38 to play.

As an aside... what's a blue demon?
Isn’t that a NPC in Worlds of Warcraft?

Haha
I must confess (brag?) that I don’t know what an NPC is. Today, a Blue Demon is an eighth-place finisher in the 76 Classic. Stanford wins in overtime, 81-74.

Non-Player Character
Now you know… :-)
They picked it up significantly in OT. The defense looked much better. There’s potential in this team, but boy do they have a lot of learning to do.

Too many weaknesses right now to point them all out
But I liked that at the end of the game (tuned in with maybe 6 minutes left in regulation) Powell, Brown and Owens started to assert themselves.
I don’t care if Bright is small and raw, at least he might hit the rim on a free-throw. Green still has a long way to go to be the leader on this team.
From what I saw they played markedly better than on Friday. That was a debacle.
Of course, if you lose to DePaul, you truly stink.

Jeremy Green collapsed after the game.
Always a scary thing to happen.
