Go Michigan! Go Arkansas! Oh, and go Stanford!

Auburn rallied to beat Alabama (thanks, Mark Ingram), dealing a significant blow to Stanford's Rose Bowl hopes. The win also probably clinched the Heisman trophy for Cam Newton. All was not lost Friday, however. Nevada pulled off a stunning upset of Boise State, knocking the Broncos out of the BCS picture, and Oregon shook off Arizona to remain in line for a berth in the National Championship Game.

The Rose Bowl is out unless Auburn loses to South Carolina in next week's SEC Championship and TCU passes the Tigers in the BCS rankings, but Stanford could guarantee itself a BCS bid by beating Oregon State today and moving into the top 4 of the rankings. Stanford fans should root for Arkansas to beat LSU. Losses by Wisconsin, Ohio State, and Michigan State couldn't hurt.

Also, root for Michigan. Michelle Smith is the latest to speculate on Jim Harbaugh's future, and says "Stanford can't really expect to keep him at this point." That's depressing. Kirk Herbstreit says that if Michigan loses to Ohio State today, Harbaugh could be announced as the Wolverines' next head coach within 24 hours. Go Blue!

Congratulations to the Stanford women's soccer team, which advanced to its third consecutive College Cup with a 5-0 shutout of Florida State.

Jeremy Green struggled in the first half for the second straight game and Stanford committed 18 turnovers in a 65-53 loss to Tulsa at the 76 Classic in Anaheim. Hey, at least the free throw shooting was better.

Jeanette Pohlen scored 14 points to lead the Stanford women's basketball team to a 70-32 win against South Carolina.
